SkyView® Lite

Identify what’s above you

SkyView® Lite uses your phone’s view of the sky to help identify stars, constellations and satellites. Point the device upward and the app displays labels and celestial outlines, making it useful for students, beginner stargazers and anyone curious about what they can see overhead.

Explore the sky and its movement

The app can show where the Sun, Moon and planets travel across the sky, and lets you view how the sky looks at different times. These features can help explain that the stars and planets appear in changing positions, or help you follow an object’s path while observing.

SkyView® Lite is listed in Education and is made by Terminal Eleven LLC. Its augmented-reality view connects information on screen with the sky around you, offering a hands-on way to explore celestial objects rather than relying only on diagrams or written descriptions.

A widely used astronomy guide

The app has a 4.3-star rating from about 57,000 reviews and more than 10 million installs on Google Play. Those figures give a sense of how many people have tried it, though they do not guarantee that every feature or result will suit every user.

As with any astronomy app, the view and identification depend on your device and the conditions around you. For the latest description, rating and availability details, check the live Google Play listing.
